Student Life is one of the three units within the division of Student Affairs at Bellevue College. Student Life is made up of five departments: Athletics, High School Programs, Housing, Student Engagement, and the Welcome Center.
Housing, Student Engagement, and the Welcome Center are the three departments in Student Life who hire hourly student employees through this application. The goal of this combined application is to centralize the process for hiring student staff for these departments who focus on student support, student development, and access to relevant student resources and support.
The 2022-2023 Student Life student employment application encompasses the following positions
- Front Desk Attendants
- Resident Assistants
- Student Engagement
- Student Engagement Front Desk Attendants
- Student Business Center Front Desk Attendants
- Student Affinity Coordinators
- Welcome Center
- BC Student Ambassadors
This application has four parts.
Part 1: Students will select which positions they are most interested in being selected for. Students will also submit their personal and identifying information and agree to the minimum requirements for employment in Student Life. Finally, students will be asked to share how they learned about the application.
Part 2: Students will submit information regarding their academic progress. Students will also submit the information for two references. These references can be personal or professional and may include a close friend, a former employer, an instructor, etc.
Part 3: Students will answer questions regarding their personal and professional experience, their strengths, and why they are applying to work with Student Life. Students will also note whether or not they currently live on the BC campus and provide their availability for Fall 2022 and expected commitments for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Part 4: Students will review their application answers and submit their application to Student Life.
3/1-3/23: Application is open.
3/28: Students may be contacted for interview with a panel of Student Life staff members.
4/11: Interviews begin.
4/17: Student post-interview feedback due back to Student Life.
4/18: Students may be contacted for second round interviews.
5/2: Student employment position offers begin.
