Hiring: Restorative Faculty Fellow

As BC expands restorative efforts across campus, the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion is hiring a Restorative Faculty Fellow. Interested faculty can complete a brief application by November 26.

More Information:

Restorative Faculty Fellowship – one 5-credit course release (or equivalent stipend for adjunct faculty based on contract and rank)|10 hours/week.

The Restorative Faculty Fellow consults with faculty across the college on restorative recommendations for classrooms and academic divisions & teams, leading restorative interventions proactively and in response to issues. Serving as one of the restorative facilitators and a member of the Restorative Dream Team (restorative advisory board), the Restorative Faculty Fellow will:

• Strategically integrate restorative practices in BC classes

o Implement restorative circles within First Year Seminar

• Establish, design, and lead restorative training for the following groups:

o First year faculty
o Faculty in First Year Seminar
o Annual or quarterly faculty retreats
o Faculty with requests

• Develop restorative practices in classroom training for faculty in coordination with other campus professional development activities
• Consult with faculty on restorative issues (team and classroom dynamics, disruptions, interpersonal conflicts, academic integrity, etc.)
• Host virtual & in-person office hours for questions, restorative tools, and resources
• Craft guiding restorative principles for faculty in consultation with the Director of Restorative Practices
• Work with Syllabus Template Team and ELearning to embed restorative practices in classroom syllabi across the campus
• Partner with Faculty Commons, Achieving the Dream, and other departments to integrate restorative practices across the college
• Attend monthly Restorative Dream Team meetings
• Advise Director of Restorative Practices on faculty concerns and needs.
