Apply for an elected or appointed position in the Associated Student Government for 2024-2025!

The Associated Student Government (ASGBC) Board of Directors is comprised of nine officers: the President and Vice President are elected and the other seven officers are selected through an appointment process managed by the current ASGBC. The purpose of the ASGBC Board of Directors is to act as the voice for students at Bellevue College and ensure student participation in college issues, while being committed to building an inclusive campus community.

The ASGBC Board of Directors manages the Services and Activities (S&A fee) process and work with campus partners in Sustainability and IT on oversight of the Student Environmental Sustainability Fee (SESF), and the Student Technology Fee (STF). They also oversee the ASGBC Student Senate, ASGBC Office of Civic Engagement and the ASGBC Office of Events and Programming. The ASGBC Board provides recognition and funding for student organizations and serves as a forum for student issues and concerns. The ASGBC Board of Directors oversee the collecetion, distribution, and collection of all voluntary student fees.

Members of the ASGBC Board of Directors also have individual projects and serve on campus-wide committees, as outlined in the ASG Bylaws. Positions will end on June 30, 2025.

ASG President

Pay: $23,000

Position Summary:

The President of the Associated Student Government of Bellevue College (ASGBC) is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the ASGBC. As the primary leader and official spokesperson of the Bellevue College student body, the President advocates for the best interests and needs of Bellevue College students at various levels. This involves collaboration with staff, faculty, administrators, trustees, and students to represent student concerns effectively. The President must fulfill all responsibilities while adhering strictly to the ASGBC Constitution, Bylaws, Financial Code, and other relevant governing documents.

ASG Vice President

Pay: $22,000

Position Summary:

The Vice President of the Associated Student Government of Bellevue College (ASGBC) is responsible for assisting and/or performing the duties of the President in their absence. Serving as the Speaker of the Student Senate, they steer the direction and leadership of the Senate, ensuring effective governance and representation of student interests at Bellevue College. Director of Finance

Pay: $18,500

Director of Sustainability and Civic Engagement

Director of Public Relations

Pay: $18,500

Position Summary: The Director of Public Relations of the Associated Student Government of Bellevue College (ASGBC) is responsible for overseeing and directing the association’s public relations efforts. Internal Affairs Director

External Affairs Director

Pay: $18,500

Position Summary:

The External Affairs Director of the Associated Student Government of Bellevue College (ASGBC) is responsible for assisting with the external operations of the ASGBC. Responsibilities range from directly assisting the President, Director of Sustainability and Civic Engagement, Director of Public Relations, and the Director of Events and Programs, serving as the proxy for the President and Vice President for non-Board of Directors and non-Student Senate responsibilities, and serving as the designated photographer of the association.

Qualifications and Eligibility

At the time of application, all candidates:

  • Must maintain at least eight (8) credit hours of coursework per quarter throughout the period of employment. 
  • Must have completed twelve (12) college-level credits taken at Bellevue College.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and maintain a minimum quarterly GPA of 2.5 throughout the period of employment.
  • Be in good standing with Bellevue College and not on disciplinary probation. 
  • Be in good academic standing, and not be on academic probation. 

Candidates for elected positions (President and Vice President) are also expected to present prior experience in leadership, in at least one of the following areas:

  • Served as an ASG Officer.
  • Served as an ASG Student Senator. 
  • Served in a leadership position in a chartered student organization at Bellevue College for at least one quarter.
  • Served in a student leadership position at Bellevue College for at least one quarter.

Campaign Rules for Elected Positions

All candidates for elected positions (President and Vice President) must attend a mandatory candidate orientation session.

ASG will schedule and host campaign events to showcase candidates and provide a forum for all candidates to meet students. All other campaign events must be pre-approved by the Electoral Committee.

  • Eligibility Review: April 1 to 8, 2024.
  • Interview Period: April 22 to May 10, 2024
  • Selection Notification: By the end of May.
  • Start Date: August 1, 2024
