The UMOJA Scholars Program at Bellevue College is a supportive learning community providing critical resources dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of Black, African American, and other students. We believe that when the voices and histories of students are deliberately and intentionally recognized and honored, the opportunity for self-efficacy emerges and a foundation is formed for academic success. The UMOJA Scholars Program actively supports and promotes student success through ethnocentric curriculum and pedagogy responsive to the legacy of the African, and African American Diasporas and experiences of students.
Prospective students to Bellevue College that are interested in participating in the Umoja Scholars Program are encouraged to attend at least one live information session. Currently, the sessions are held virtually on Zoom. Each session will provide an overview of Bellevue College, the Umoja Scholars Program, and application process. Please RSVP using the registration form below to attend one of the scheduled virtual information sessions. Prospective students, family members/support system, community members and school officials are welcomed to attend. You may also select to be notified when new Umoja information sessions become available.
