The Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA) in Interior Design offers a broadly-based and professionally relevant curriculum that prepares and inspires the designers of the future. The program provides a learning environment based on a foundation of holistic, creative problem-solving. The curriculum is a two-year course of advanced study that builds on a two-year foundation, which could be completed at Bellevue College. The program offers a combination of core courses and liberal arts education. The BAA in Interior Design empowers its students to realize their potential and goals through a design education that is responsible, rigorous, and relevant.

  • Apply fundamental and essential interior design principles and practices.
  • Recognize the impact of globalization on design practices and the social and political influences on the built environment.
  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment, and finish materials on the basis of their properties and performance criteria, including environmental attributes, maintenance, installation, and life cycle cost.
  • Apply ethical and accepted standards of practice for project management, project communication, and project delivery.
