The Exempt Council currently has a vacant position and is looking for a new at-large member to join EC for 2022-23. Exempt Council will vote to approve a new member and invite them to join for the next meeting which is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
If you are an exempt employee and would like to be considered for this position we would like to encourage you to submit a short 200-word statement of interest to be added to the voter guide. Please email your statement to the Vice Chair of Exempt Council Alysa Kelsey by Oct. 31.
The Exempt Council consists of 9 members that represent exempt staff in the BC Governance system, and generally meets the second Tuesday of the month from 1-2:30 p.m.
The goal of Exempt Council is to represent the exempt members on campus and to work to improve the quality of life for all around campus. Recent achievements of the Exempt Council include initiating the Exempt Compensation Survey and Professional Development Day for exempt staff, in addition to weighing in on a variety of matters around campus such as equity and inclusion, CTCLink – and more.
If you’re passionate about aiding your fellow employees or looking to better understand what’s happening on campus, we highly recommend serving.
