Winter quarter textbook adoptions are coming up soon. Inclusive access book selections are due no later than Oct. 19 and all other textbooks (including intent to use OER) are due by Nov 5.
More Information:
We would like to provide you with an update about the upcoming winter 2023 quarter textbook adoption deadlines.
OCTOBER 19: final date to submit winter quarter inclusive access digital materials adoption info
NOVEMBER 5: final date to submit winter quarter print and open education resources (OER) info
Inclusive Access Digital Materials Adoptions:
The deadline to submit winter digital materials adoptions is October 19, 2022. Adoptions submitted after October 19 will only be available in other formats (print textbooks, OER).
All Other Formats Including Print and OER Adoptions:
The deadline to submit winter Print and Open Education Resources (OER) adoptions is November 5, 2022.
Washington state legislation requires OER information to be available at the time of registration. With the OER label already established as policy by SBCTC, all ctcLink colleges are required to implement the OER attribute on their sections set forth in the statutes (E2SHB 1375 & RCW 28B.50.789).
Late Adoptions:
If a course’s required textbooks and course materials are not determined prior to registration due to an unassigned faculty member, the textbooks’ and course materials’ cost must be provided as soon as feasible after a faculty member is assigned. If faculty assignments take place after November 5th, regular textbook materials and the OER are the only option available for adoptions.
Even if you don’t require a textbook or if you use Open Educational Resources (OER), it’s still important to submit adoption information. Faculty can select “no course materials required” or “OER”. Otherwise, the class will simply show as “no information received.”
