Journal clubs create a community of practice where student groups read scholarly sources and present them to their classmates. Students gain literacy skills like breaking down jargon, and they build confidence by going “behind the curtain” of knowledge creation and by eavesdropping on—and engaging with—conversations between experts.
Journal clubs are easy to set up and manage, and librarians can support your students looking for journal articles. And journal clubs can be in any field or subject.
