Japan Week, Bellevue College’s annual fall festival organized by students, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Volunteers are needed to help make this special event a success.
Volunteer Opportunities
Japan Week is recruiting:
- 200 event volunteers to help with venue setup on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 9, and during the event on Saturday, Oct. 10
- 20 mikoshi, or portable shrine, carriers for the festival parade
Volunteers must be at least 15 years old by Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.
High school students may receive a Volunteer/Community Service Certificate documenting their volunteer hours.

Volunteer T-Shirt Design Contest
Japan Week is also holding a contest to design this year’s official volunteer T-shirt. The winning designer will receive a gift card and an official Japan Week volunteer T-shirt.
Submit designs by 11:59 PM Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. Participants may submit multiple designs.
