Never Again Is Now: A Permanent Commitment
The Bellevue College community is invited to attend “Never Again Is Now: A Permanent Commitment,” a ceremony marking the permanent installation of the Never Again is Now mural on campus.
Created by Seattle artist and activist Erin Shigaki, the mural depicts two Japanese American children on the day they are forced into a World War II incarceration camp. The permanent installation also includes historical information about the impact of Japanese American incarceration on communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The ceremony honors the artist’s work while reaffirming a commitment to learning from past injustices and preserving these stories for future generations.
