Data is everywhere. Learn how to collect, organize, visualize, and interpret it in DATA 101 – Introduction to Data I. This new interdisciplinary course introduces foundational skills in data analysis, statistics, visualization, ethics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning through hands-on, real-world applications.

Course Topics Include

• Data collection, cleaning, and management
• Data visualization and statistical analysis
• Working with quantitative and qualitative data
• Data ethics and responsible AI
• Introductory machine learning concepts

Students will gain hands-on experience using modern software and programming tools while working with real-world data.

• Common Course Number designation
• Counts toward Quantitative/Symbolic Reasoning (QSR) requirements
• No prior programming experience required

Enrollment Requirement

Completion of MATH 98 with a C or better, or permission of the instructor.
