High blood pressure often has no noticeable symptoms, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a “silent” issue. A quick check can help identify changes early and support healthy habits.
Life on campus can include factors that affect blood pressure, such as stress, changes in sleep, caffeine or energy drink use, eating patterns, alcohol or nicotine use (smoking or vaping), family history, certain medications, and limited time for physical activity. These factors can increase risk without clear warning signs.
Bellevue College’s Healthy Campus Advocates encourage students and employees to have their blood pressure checked at least twice a year. Early awareness remains one of the most effective ways to maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
