Pathways in Practice Workshop Highlights Innovative ELA Courses
Faculty and staff are invited to attend “Pathways in Practice: How Students Build College and Career Readiness in Innovative ELA Courses” on Monday, April 27, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM in D Building, Room 104.
This interactive 100-minute workshop will highlight how the Bellevue College English Language Acquisition (ELA) program, formerly English as a Second Language (ESL), is transforming English instruction to better prepare students for college pathways, the workforce and the community.
ELA faculty will showcase innovative courses that integrate Bellevue College pathways into English language learning, including:
- English for Health: Emergency, First Aid, and Illness and Wellness
- English for Digital Storytelling
- English for the Job Search
- Workplace Communication
- English courses developed with a community business partner that integrate English learning with industry credentials
