The Theatre Arts Department at Bellevue College, in partnership with the Stage Fright Drama Club, presents “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde. The production is directed by Ben Kirkpatrick and Jessie Pavkovic.
First premiered in 1895, this classic comedy of farce follows two young bachelors who create alternate identities to escape the expectations of Victorian society. A sharp commentary on class, wealth and social conventions in English society, the play remains a witty and enduring favorite more than 100 years after its debut.
