Required Screening Committee Training for Bellevue College Employees
Mandatory for all hiring managers and screening committee members
Bellevue College requires training for all employees who serve on a screening committee. This includes program chairs, screening committee chairs, bias mitigation advocates, and all other screening committee members. Hiring managers must also complete the training.

Recruiting and Selecting Excellence
This session provides foundational knowledge for conducting fair, impartial, and equitable recruitment processes. Participants will also learn about available resources and support from the Office of Human Resources.

This training focuses on minimizing bias during the screening process, ensuring compliance with college policies, and applying best practices. It is offered in collaboration with the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation and the Office of Human Resources.

Bias Mitigation Advocate Training
Pre-requisite: Completion of both required trainings above
Bias mitigation advocates are trained to recognize and address potential bias during recruitment. They may pause a search to raise concerns and work closely with the screening committee chair and Human Resources to support an equitable process.

Enter your employee information.

Select “Screening Committee Trainings” from the drop-down menu.

Choose your preferred session(s).
You will receive a calendar invitation with a Microsoft Teams link a few days before the training.
Confirm Your Training Status
To verify your eligibility to serve on a screening committee, review the Screening Committee Member List.
If you’ve already completed the required trainings, you are not required to retake them, but you are welcome to attend again.
