L Building Roof Refurbishment Project Update

Refurbishment work on the L Building roof is underway this winter quarter to enhance the building’s functionality. The project includes replacing and repairing air handling units (AHUs), skylights, and roofing.

Key Work Schedule and Impacts

Jan. 14–18: Roof Work and Demolition

• Increased noise is expected from 7–9 a.m. during this period.

• Noisiest work will conclude by 8:30–9 a.m. to minimize disruptions.

Starting Jan. 20: Air Handling Unit Replacement

• AHUs will be replaced in phases, with the second set scheduled for early March.

• Temperature variations may occur. Adjustments include boosting existing units and providing space heaters where needed.

Road Closures on Kelsey Creek Road

• Monday, Jan. 20: A crane will be placed on the east side of the L Building.

  • Traffic Impact: Kelsey Creek Rd will remain open but reduced to one lane with flagging and traffic control in place.

  • Pedestrian Impact: The sidewalk and L Building frontage will be closed. The bus stop will be temporarily moved south along Kelsey Creek Rd.

Building Access

The L Building and its classrooms will remain accessible throughout the project.
