Bellevue College Music Department Presents Badi Assad in Concert

The Bellevue College Music Department and Guitar Program are thrilled to host renowned Brazilian artist Badi Assad in the Carlson Theatre. Celebrated by The New York Times for her “imaginative virtuosity, moving from gauzy delicacy to vigorous propulsion, from dreaming to dancing and back,” Assad is known for blending voice, guitar, and percussion into a genre-defying, unforgettable performance.

Recognized as a “one-woman band,” Assad incorporates vocal percussion, body rhythms, and inventive sounds into her music. Born in São Paulo, she gained international fame with albums such as Solo and Chameleon. Despite facing focal dystonia, Assad continued creating, with recent works including Around the World (2020), contributions to Arooj Aftab’s GRAMMY-winning Vulture Prince (2021), and her album Ilha (2022).
