Required Training for all Members of a Screening Committee and Hiring Managers
Audience: The following two training courses are required for all Program Chairs and any employee interested in participating on a Screening Committee or serving as a Hiring Manager at BC. These courses can be taken in any order.
1. Recruiting and Selecting Excellence
This training provides foundational knowledge for conducting fair, impartial, and equitable recruitment. It also connects committees with resources and gives an overview of how BC’s Office of Human Resources supports committees during the recruitment and selection process.
2. Equity in the Screening Process
Focused on understanding and minimizing bias during the Screening Committee process, this training also connects committees with resources and outlines how BC’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion supports committees throughout recruitment.

- Once registered, you’ll receive an Outlook invite with the meeting link a few days before the training.
Required Training for DEI Advocates
Prerequisites: Completion of both Screening Committee Training Courses
Audience: Program Chairs and Screening Committee Members who wish to serve as DEI Advocates
DEI Advocates are responsible for leading diversity and inclusion efforts during faculty and staff recruitment. They work closely with HR and the Screening Committee Chair to ensure an equitable search process.

- Check Eligibility to Serve on a Screening Committee
- View the BC Screening Committee Member List to verify whether you’ve met the requirements to serve on a Screening Committee. If you’ve completed the training, there’s no need to repeat it.
