The nursing program will conduct a mass casualty incident (MCI) simulation, providing nursing students with an immersive training experience. The event will feature actors, real police officers, firefighters, and cinematic special effects to create a realistic environment. Students will have the opportunity to practice emergency room trauma management skills in a controlled setting.
Additionally, the King County Sheriff’s Department will lead “Stop the Bleed” training, enhancing students’ life-saving abilities. The Fire Department will also be on hand to assist and observe. This comprehensive educational experience aims to strengthen teamwork and practical skills, preparing future healthcare professionals to deliver quality care.
Volunteer Opportunity: We are seeking volunteer extra actors for the simulation. If you’re interested, please contact April Ambalina at april.ambalina@bellevuecollege.edu. A minimum 1.5-hour time commitment is required.
Note: Police vehicles and fire trucks will be present on campus for this event. Please inform students and faculty that these vehicles are part of the simulation.
