Changes to Class Search on the BC Website

Do you use the BC Website’s Class Search? If so, there are some recent developments that you should know about.

More Information:

The annual schedule for the 2023-24 school year is expected to be posted via the Class Search on March 31. This means that the next five quarters will be visible to users (Spring 2023 has already been published).

It is important to remember a few general points:

  • Class fees and faculty assignments are subject to change even when the sections have been posted online.
  • If the teaching modality changes, the existing section will be canceled and a new section will be created. The idea behind it is that our students should be able to rely on the dates/times and modalities for the course sections that are listed.
  • Summer-Fall course offerings will be solidified by May, and Winter-Spring course offerings will be finalized after we complete the transition to the centralized scheduling team which will be housed in the Academic Affairs Office.

There are some changes compared to previous years. Please be aware of these items:

  • The SUBJECT filter will no longer display Common Course Numbered (CCN) courses as its own separate line. Both SUBJECT and SUBJECT (CCN) will be displayed when SUBJECT is selected from the drop-down list.
  • In order to assist students with long term planning, it is our plan to add COURSE TYPICALLY OFFERED data points for all courses within the next few months.
