MLK Student Panel and Luncheon

To bring students together and discuss past events, leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the influence of his actions and message.

More Information:

Latinx Student Club have partnered with Associated Student Government and Black Student Union to plan a student panel and luncheon that is meant to bring students together and discuss past events, leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the influence of his actions and message.

The panel will be held on Wednesday, Jan 18 from 12:30-2 p.m. in the cafeteria. We are looking for student leaders who would like to participate in facilitating discussions. The set up will consist of 15 round tables, ideally, we would have one student leader at each table to start conversations within the table group. This will allow students to express their thoughts and have more meaningful connections and conversations. If you would like to be a facilitator, please email me at sofia.foronda@bellevuecollege.edu.

Topics of discussion include:

* Segregation
* Equity in schools
* Passive resistance
* Enacting change
* The purpose and power behind protesting
* Police brutality in instances of protest

Lunch will be provided by Ezell’s.
