Join the Faculty Commons for a quarter-long discussion of “Blood in the Machine: The Origins of the Rebellion Against Big Tech” by Brian Merchant. The book explores labor history and asks what lessons it offers workers and human beings navigating a new age of artificial intelligence.
Open to faculty and classified staff, the book club will be facilitated by faculty and staff with backgrounds in labor organizing. Come connect with colleagues, build solidarity, and discuss the connections between past labor movements, today’s labor challenges, and the rise of AI.
When: 11:30 AM-1 PM Tuesdays, Sept. 29; Oct. 6 and 20; and Nov. 3 and 17
