Lecture: Medical Mission to Gaza, May 14

Dr. Tanya Shah, family medicine physician will be on campus for a guest lecture on medicine in conflict zones, focusing on her latest journey to Gaza with Doctors Without Borders.

The Department of Political Science and the Bellevue College Model United Nations Club will welcome Dr. Tanya Shah to campus Thursday, May 14, from 12:30–2:20 PM in U Building, Room 312, for a guest lecture on medicine in conflict zones focused on her recent experience in Gaza.

Dr. Shah is a family medicine physician who has worked in critical access hospitals throughout the United States and internationally with Médecins Sans Frontières in Eswatini. Most recently, she provided medical care in Gaza during active conflict.

During the lecture, Dr. Shah will share firsthand experiences treating patients in conflict zones and reflect on the lessons she has learned about medicine, resilience and humanitarian response.

Space is limited to 90 attendees. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
