Social Science Discovery is proud to present “The Non‑Hikers’ Guide to Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro” by Christina Sciabarra, Ph.D., Program Chair of Political Science and International Studies from 12:30-2:30 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in Room 201, N Building (N201).

Join Dr. Sciabarra for a journey through her climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Through the use of photos, video, 360 video, and interviews, she will share with you the many parts of climbing “Kili.” Her presentation will include stories of the porter army needed to help 15 Americans walk up a mountain, information on the six distinct climate zones — ranging from tropical rainforest to alpine desert — and the community she built over electrolytes and toilet paper. Join Dr. Sciabarra for an insider’s view of climbing the highest mountain in Africa.
