When a crisis hits, you can’t help your students if you’re worried about your own home. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to “bug-in”—staying safe and secure where you live with the supplies and strategies you need.

Emergency Preparedness Workshops Begin Jan. 13
Bellevue College faculty and staff are invited to a five-part Emergency Preparedness Workshop series, held on select Tuesdays from 12:00–1:00 PM in Room D104 and online via Microsoft Teams. The series will help you prepare your home and mindset to respond effectively during crises—so you can better support your students and the campus community.

Jan. 13 – Food and Water Security: Strategies for managing household supplies during extended disruptions.

Jan. 27 – Risk Awareness and Mitigation: Identifying threats to home safety and developing realistic countermeasures.

Feb. 10 – Medical Readiness: Planning for basic health, medication needs, and first-aid care.

Feb. 24 – Communication Continuity: Maintaining contact and access to critical information during outages.

March 5 – Mutual Support Networks: Building connections to share resources and support resilience.
The workshop draws inspiration from Joel Lambert’s A Navy SEAL’s Bug-In Guide: How to Turn Your House into the Safest Place on Earth, which will be available for checkout at the Faculty Commons in January.
Open to all Bellevue College faculty and staff.
