Greenhouse and Community Garden Construction Begins May 5

Beginning the week of May 5, fencing will be installed north of the parking garage to begin construction on Bellevue College’s new greenhouse and garden beds, which will support academic programs and enhance campus sustainability efforts.

This project is part of the W Building expansion, which includes the demolition of the current greenhouse located on Snoqualmie River Road near the C Building. That site will be cleared in May to make way for the new building footprint.

The new garden area will include four 200-square-foot greenhouses, a 3,000-square-foot teaching space, and expanded garden beds. In preparation, the concrete wall along Kelsey Creek Road has already been removed to improve access from the main campus.

Plant clearing, including removal of invasive species, will begin along with fencing installation. Construction is expected to continue through early fall.

Please use caution near the construction zone and stay tuned for future updates as the college develops this new resource for learning and community engagement.
