For the first time, IT 115 – PC Analysis & Configuration I and IT 117 – PC Analysis & Configuration II will be available during Spring Quarter. If you missed the chance to take these courses in the fall or winter, now is the time to build essential IT skills that can jumpstart your career.
Course Details
- IT 115 introduces PC hardware and software installation, operating systems, troubleshooting techniques, system optimization, and storage. This hands-on course covers 50% of the competencies required for the CompTIA A+ certification, a key credential for IT professionals.
- IT 117 expands on this foundation, covering advanced troubleshooting, command-line configuration, virtualization, networking, and mobile computing.
Both courses must be taken concurrently.
Prerequisites
- Placement by assessment into ENGL 101
- OR completion of ENGL 92 or ENGL 93 with a C or better
- OR permission of the instructor
By enrolling, students will gain practical experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software, troubleshooting IT issues, managing network security, and understanding cloud computing and virtualization.
