More Information:
On November 4, most BC students received an email from Get Inclusive asking them to take a short online set of learning modules. Continuing education and parent education students did not receive the invitation. All other Bellevue College students must finish this course by December 16, 2024.
The course is called “Voices for Changes” and addresses consent, preventing sexual assault, bystander intervention, alcohol and drug use, and diversity and inclusion. Students will get reminder emails from Get Inclusive and me until they finish the course.
Colleges and universities must teach students, faculty, and staff how to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking (20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)(8)). Washington state also requires students to learn about inclusion, hazing prevention, and opioid misuse (RCW 28B.10.145, RCW 28B.10.904, RCW 28B.10.578). This course helps BC meet the minimum state and federal prevention and education training requirements. Other trainings and opportunities are offered throughout the year.
If there is an opportunity, please encourage students to look for the invitation email and complete the training. It should take about one hour. While there are no direct negative consequences to the student, BC must track and report completion for some topics.
If you receive any questions, email megan.kaptik@bellevuecollege.edu. For help with technical issues, students may contact support@getinclusive.com.
