Bite-Sized Learning Series for State Employees

The Department of Enterprise Services Equity & Employee Development program is offering free “Bite-Sized Learning” series of one-hour courses to enhance skills, connect with peers, and foster a climate of inclusion and belonging in state government.

Topics:

From Empathy to Action: Cultivating Compassion in the Workplace: Explore definitions and envision the realistic application of compassion in the workplace. Objectives: 1) Describe compassion and self-compassion. 2) Apply the appropriate use of compassion and self-compassion to common workplace situations.

Resilience in Action: Navigating Emotions in Change: Learn how to manage your feelings and adapt during change and help create a positive work environment. Objectives: 1) Define resilience and explain its importance in navigating organizational change. 2) Recognize and explain emotional responses to organizational changes. 3) Identify applicable resilience strategies for each stage of emotional response to change.

The ”Why” Behind the “What”: Embracing Your Core Values: This interactive course will help you identify and embrace your core values that help guide you to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Objectives: 1) Define and identify your core values. 2) List the benefits of knowing your core values. 3) Align your core values to your purpose/work.

Coaching Conversations Unlocked: Guiding Action Through Coaching: A hands-on approach to learn and practice the skills needed to guide conversations with a coaching approach. 1) Define coaching. 2) Identify essential coaching skills and a coaching framework for guiding conversations.
