BC Governance Workshops: Enhance Your Involvement
Join a series of workshops designed to deepen your understanding of BC Governance. These sessions will cover governance basics, advanced topics, and practical skills to help you make a positive impact on our community through engaging discussions and activities.
Workshop Topics
Introductory Series
- Sept. 27: BC Governance (BCG) history, purpose, framework, and best practices.
- Oct. 11: Who’s Who in governance and how to get things done.
- Oct. 25: Proposals and the 4 P’s: Practice, Proposal, Policy, Procedure.
- Nov. 8: Using resources: VPs, alumni, constituencies.
- Nov. 22: Look Ahead 2025: Make governance a win-win for employees, students, and Bellevue College.
Intermediate Series
- Sept. 27: Planning, stepping up, & delegating.
- Oct. 11: Goals, meetings, resources & remedies.
- Oct. 25: Committee, constituency, community input, and impact.
- Nov. 8: Emerging leaders and promoting council teamwork.
- Nov. 22: Officer support (cross-council) and recruitment; look ahead to 2025.
Hybrid Format and Registration
Workshops will be offered in a hybrid format and recorded (pending participant consent). Register to receive Outlook invitations with locations and Zoom links.
