Have you ever thought about who organizes community health events or public wellness campaigns (hand washing, COVID masks, etc?) The people behind these initiatives are trained in Health Promotion and Education.
More Information:
The Health Promotion & Education (HPM) degree program prepares you to create health programs that help people live better, healthier lives by giving them the tools and education they need.
What is Health Promotion and Education?
Health Promotion and Education is the teaching arm of public health, focused on helping individuals and communities improve their health and well-being. For example, you might have seen local smoking cessation programs, hand washing posters, campaigns to promote mental health awareness, or even public events encouraging physical activity like walk-a-thons or free fitness classes in the park. These are the kinds of programs you could help develop and run as a graduate of our program.
Through This Degree, You’ll Learn How To:
- Create and implement health campaigns on topics like mental wellness, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Educate people about healthy behaviors and how to reduce their risk of chronic diseases.
- Focus on reducing health disparities by improving access to health resources for underrepresented communities.
If you’ve ever wanted to play a role in improving people’s lives through education and advocacy, this is an excellent career path where you can make a difference.
