Required Training for Screening Committee Members and Hiring Managers
Audience: All Program Chairs and employees interested in serving on a Screening Committee or as a Hiring Manager at BC are required to complete the following two training courses. These courses can be taken in any order.
1. Recruiting and Selecting Excellence
This training provides essential knowledge for conducting fair, impartial, and equitable recruitment processes. It connects committees with resources and offers an overview of how the Office of Human Resources supports committees during recruitment and selection.
2. Equity in the Screening Process
This session focuses on understanding and minimizing bias during the Screening Committee process. It includes resources and an overview of the support provided by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

DEI Advocate Training
Pre-Requisites: Completion of both Screening Committee Training Courses.
Audience: Program Chairs and Screening Committee Members who wish to serve as DEI Advocates. DEI Advocates play a critical role in promoting equity and inclusion within recruitment and selection processes at BC. They work closely with HR and the committee chair to ensure an equitable search.
Why Take the DEI Advocate Training?
This training helps participants understand and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion at the college. DEI Advocates are instrumental in creating an inclusive campus community and supporting BC’s commitment to these values.
