Summary: Our students and community are experiencing increased rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns, exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic. This 1-day, 6-hour introductory workshop aims to equip faculty with essential skills and knowledge, including:
- Greater awareness of the impact of mental health, recognizing signs and symptoms of emotional distress/crisis or suicidal tendencies.
- Increased self-confidence in providing support to someone in emotional distress/crisis.
- Understanding of the signs and symptoms of secondary/vicarious trauma.
- Skills to set boundaries.
- An opportunity to develop a self-care plan of action.
