BC Staff: Volunteer at Commencement 2024

BC needs dozens of workers to bring Commencement to life and make it a special occasion for our graduating students and their guests, so please join us. Supervisors, please encourage your staff to participate in this momentous occasion.

More Information:

Commencement 2024 is scheduled for Sunday, June 23 at T-Mobile Park, and we hope you will get involved.

Working at Commencement, you might greet graduates and guests as they arrive to the park, serve as an usher showing attendees where they can sit, assist in graduate line-up and/or route-finding, set up the stage decor, answer questions at information tables, help individuals adjust their caps and gowns, direct vendors to their locations, along with many other critical roles.

We understand that working at Commencement on a Sunday is a bit atypical, so we appreciate anyone who is able to make this accommodation in their schedule.

For exempt employees, if you work at Commencement, you can coordinate with your supervisor to exchange that day for another mutually agreed upon day off (e.g., if you work on the Sunday of Commencement, you could take off the following Monday for instance or another mutually agreed-upon day with your supervisor).

For Classified employees, if you work at Commencement, you can coordinate with your supervisor for flex time where you work hours on Sunday in place of hours you would work M-F. This work at Commencement should be considered part of your regular work week. You will be paid for the hours worked and the hours should not result in overtime hours for the week.

If you are willing to work at Commencement, please discuss it with your supervisor and then sign up by completing this brief online form as soon as possible, but no later than May 10.
