Native Plant Talk – April 3

Join Snohomish Tribal Elder Pamela SeaMonster as she shares Indigenous science about plants of the Pacific Northwest and pick up a few to plant at home during the tree giveaway with local non-profit 300 Trees.

The Office of Sustainability welcomes Snohomish Tribal Elder Pamela SeaMonster back to BC campus April 3, 1:30-2:30 p.m. in D106 to share Indigenous plant knowledge about Doug Fir, Chokecherry, Mountain Hemlock, June Plum and Black Hawthorne.

Pamela is the Vice Chair of the Snohomish Tribe of Indians, and Chair of the Indigenous led non-profit, The People of the Confluence. She has been a cultural educator for 25 years. She is also a plant medicine specialist, Traditional Storyteller, environmental rights activist, and fellow director on the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee.

Join the tree giveaway with local nonprofit 300 Trees from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. to pick up trees to plant at home, and stay for Pamela’s talk, where she’ll focus on these trees.
