The BC website is undergoing a major overhaul. The redesign is set to launch on Thursday, April 6. The new site is designed to offer a fresh aesthetic, improved functionality, and enhanced content centered on BC’s mission to provide teaching and learning excellence.

The current BC website has been in operation for almost a decade, and it was time for a refresh to better meet the digital needs of the college’s many audiences. This project began with the formation of a cross-campus task force, and, after extensive study and input from a range of community stakeholders, substantial design and development was conducted to respond to those needs. The core team is excited to unveil those results.

The new design includes an overhaul of 40 subsites, including 150 new pages, and dedicated entries for every BC degree and certification program. Visitors can expect a more intuitive layout, increased accessibility and usability measures, a new style guide, and an updated WordPress interface. BC Pathways has also been reimagined and now offers a greatly enhanced user experience.

It’s understood that this is a significant undertaking that requires time and effort from our dedicated faculty and staff. There may be some bumps along the way, but that is normal for a transition of such magnitude. The core team will continue to monitor the site to ensure that it offers an engaging experience for all.

This project’s success will not be determined by its release, but rather how well the new site is maintained over the long haul. The core team is committed to seeing that happen and is confident that the new site will be a valuable resource for the entire community. It hopes that you share in their excitement.
