Free Reading and Writing Workshops, Week 5

Workshops available during week 5:

– TEXTALK WITH ANA – A weekly in-person workshop series tailored for English Language Learners, focusing on reading and English language skills. Tuesday 4:30-5:30 p.m.
– TEXTALK WITH SOPHIE – A weekly in-person workshop series tailored for English Language Learners, focusing on reading and English language skills. Wednesday 11:30-12:20 p.m.
– HOW TO FIND THE MAIN IDEA – Learn strategies on how to find the main idea and learn why the main idea is so important. Tuesday, Jan. 31 10:30-11:20 a.m.
– PERSONAL STATEMENTS – Learn how to write effective personal narratives for transfer applications to four-year universities or programs. Tuesday, Jan. 31 11:30-12:30 p.m.
– HOW TO IDENTIFY SUPPORTING DETAILS – Learn how to recognize supporting details in your reading. Wednesday, Feb. 1 2:30-3:20 p.m.
– MLA CITATIONS – Learn how to find the information needed for MLA documentation, how to cite sources in text, and avoid common errors in Works Cited lists. Thursday, Feb. 2 10:30-11:30 a.m.
– HOW TO USE VOCABULARY IN CONTEXT STRATEGIES – This workshop will focus on different strategies and context clues to help you become a better reader. Thursday, Feb. 2 11:30-12:20 p.m.
