Come join us for free reading and/or writing workshops offered by Reading Lab and Writing Lab (housed at the Academic Success Center). Workshops available during Week 4:
– TEXTALK WITH ANA – A weekly in-person workshop series tailored for English language learners, focusing on reading and English language skills. Tuesday 4:30-5:30 p.m.
– TEXTALK WITH SOPHIE – A weekly in-person workshop series tailored for English language learners, focusing on reading and English language skills. Wednesday 11:30-12:20 p.m.
– HOW TO READ YOUR TEXTBOOK – Learn strategies that will help you connect, understand, and remember the information you read, as well as manage the time you spend on reading. Wednesday, Jan. 25; 10:30-11:20 a.m.
– RESEARCH PAPER – Learn how to evaluate and fine-tune your research question and get tips on how to get started with finding credible sources. Wednesday, Jan. 25; 1:00-2:00 p.m.
– HOW TO STUDY VOCABULARY – Learn how to study and remember vocabulary. Wednesday, Jan. 25; 2:30-3:20 p.m.
– HOW TO READ A SCHOLARLY ARTICLE – Learn strategies that will help you review and understanding scholarly articles Thursday, Jan. 26; 10:30-11:20 a.m. (pre-register via MCS)
– PERSONAL STATEMENTS – Learn how to write effective personal narratives for transfer applications to four-year universities or programs. Thursday, Jan. 26; 1:00-2:00 p.m.
