Come recycle plastic bags, volunteer, and make an impact! The Bellevue College Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Alpha Epsilon Rho, is organizing a volunteering activity that will help recycle plastic bags and help the homeless. This opportunity is open to all BC students.

  • When: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, and every other Wednesday from 1 – 2 p.m.
  • Where: the MakerSpace (Room B237).
  • What: Introduction to making playarn (plastic yarn) and crocheting. Visit https://www.bellevuecollege.edu/rise/bedrolls/ to learn more about the project.

How does the activity work?

You will learn how to cut plastic yarn, then crochet it into a bedroll. This activity has therapeutic and environmental benefits. This is an ongoing volunteering project, and the first event to introduce how to make the bedrolls will take place on May 18, from 1 – 2 p.m., in room B237.

Who can participate?

This activity is hosted by the Bellevue College PTK chapter, Alpha Epsilon Rho, partnering with the Rise Learning Institute, and all BC students are welcome to join us.
