Current Council Activities
Your council is:
1) Reviewing the implications of the lowered enrollments and seeking creative ideas to help increase community interest in enrolling at BC.
2) Reviewing campus policies published on the Policies and Procedures Tracking page on an ongoing basis. To see the policies and procedures, please follow this link:
3) Taking steps to increase outreach to constituents.
4) Developing processes for supporting campus initiatives to provide necessary information to faculty in one handy, easy to access location
Paid committee and/or unpaid governance opportunities:
The Equity Education Advisory Committee (EEAC) has an opening for an adjunct position with a term length of 2-3 years which is flexible. EEAC is welcoming all applications: EEAC Application for Adjunct Faculty. Applications are due by Thursday, April 14, 2022. The selection committee will announce the new members by April 29, 2022.
EEAC is in its inaugural year. It is comprised of 15 members – 5 Exempt, 5 Classified, and 5 Students. Their goal is to track and deliver throughout the year equity education, to define aspects, provide training, and improve dynamics between students and faculty. Adjuncts make up most of the teaching positions, 3 to 1. The opening was created to have a more equitable representation.
The new contract can claim certain hours and have them count toward their governance participation. If the hours exceed what is expected because they are also on a council, they will be paid a stipend. There has been more work this year, so compensation will be $1750 per quarter starting Fall Quarter.
