The Art and Science of Black Resilience will be presented by our very own Bryan Brown from the Counseling Department.

Bryan is a first-generation Trinidadian American who was born and raised between West Philadelphia and Trinidad. Growing up between two black cultures cultivated in him a love for the diversity that flows from the African Diaspora as well as a passion for travel and culture. As a trauma-informed psychodynamic therapist, it is this love for culture, diversity, and intersectionality that fuels his work.

Bryan has spent a number of years consulting for businesses in the hospitality sector, serving in international aid relief, training young adults in community development, and working as a spiritual mentor. His experiences, culture, and education inform this offering he will bring around the art and science of black resilience.

Bryan believes the way forward is found within the generative relationships that are available to us, our creative impulse, and the integration of our lived experiences.

Please join us Thursday, Feb. 24, for this Black History Month event.

Sponsored by the Black Employees of Bellevue College (BEOBC), the Social Justice Center, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
