The permanent installation also includes historical information about the impact of Japanese American incarceration on communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The ceremony honors the artist&#8217;s work while reaffirming a commitment to learning from past injustices and preserving these stories for future generations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>Event Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>What:<\/strong> &#8220;Never Again Is Now: A Permanent Commitment&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>When:<\/strong> 1 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> Fountain Courtyard, near C Building and D Building<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>Speakers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Erin Shigaki, artist and activist<\/li>\n<li>Bellevue College President David May<\/li>\n<li>Stan Shikuma, Japanese American Citizens League and Tsuru for Solidarity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bellevue College community is invited to a ceremony for the permanent installation of the Never Again is Now mural.
