Required Screening Committee Training Available for Bellevue College Employees<\/strong><\/p>\n

Does being involved in the recruitment and selection process at Bellevue College interest you? Do you have a passion for equity in the workplace? Are you a hiring manager? If you answered yes to any of these questions, register today for required screening committee training.<\/p>\n

Bellevue College requires all employees serving on screening committees to complete mandatory training before participating in the hiring process. This requirement applies to hiring managers, program chairs, screening committee chairs, bias mitigation advocates and all committee members.<\/p>\n

Employees must complete both required trainings before serving on a screening committee.<\/p>\n

Recruiting and Selecting Excellence<\/strong>
This training provides foundational guidance for conducting fair, impartial and equitable recruitment processes. Participants will also review hiring resources and procedures from the Office of Human Resources.<\/p>\n

Fairness and Equal Opportunity<\/strong>
This training focuses on minimizing bias, ensuring compliance with college policies and applying equitable hiring practices. The session is presented in collaboration with the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation and the Office of Human Resources.<\/p>\n

Bias Mitigation Advocate Training<\/strong>
Prerequisite: Completion of both required trainings<\/em><\/p>\n

This training prepares participants to recognize and address potential bias during recruitment processes. Bias mitigation advocates support equitable hiring practices in partnership with the screening committee chair and the Office of Human Resources.<\/p>\n

Steps to Register<\/strong><\/p>\n

  2. Select \u201cScreening Committee Trainings.\u201d<\/li>\n
  3. Choose preferred training session(s).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Participants will receive a calendar invitation with a Microsoft Teams link a few days before the training.<\/p>\n

    Confirm Training Status<\/strong>
    Employees who have already completed the required trainings do not need to retake them but may attend again if desired.<\/p>\n
