Disability Pride Month Tidbit: Tank Chair
People often think those who use wheelchairs can’t participate in a number of activities. And then there are those who work to address that. One solution: Tank Chair! No activity or terrain is off limits to wheelchair users: whether it be fishing, hunting, farming, playing with your kids on the field or camping. However, a normal wheelchair will not be able to accomplish these tasks: you’re going to need something more specifically built to handle activities involving crossing dirt, snow, mud or grass and, that’s where the Tank Chair comes in. With wheels designed to look like those you’d find attached to a tank on the battlefield, the tank chair traverses over snow, dirt, mud or grass with ease. Check out the Tank Chair in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hzzF0iGS00 to see just how technology can support disabled folks participate in all sorts of activities!
